Bosom Buddies Charities
Our mission is to promote breast cancer awareness, research and prevention, and to benefit diagnostic mammography, treatment methodology, and healing.
Since 2007, Bosom Buddies Charities has raised more than $600,000.00 in charitable contributions.
What We Do
- Bosom Buddies Charities annually hosts its primary fundraiser, the Bosom Buddies Ball. Held in January, it is an elegant, black-tie evening, with a top-notch band, lots of dancing, a delicious meal and an extraordinary auction.
- With the proceeds of past balls, we have purchased a state of the art digital mammography machine and a hand held sonogram machine for the Anne Arundel Medical Center - Kent Island facility.
- In 2008, Bosom Buddies Charities was the recipient of a challenge grant from the Eugenia Teodoli Educational Trust. With this grant and additional funds received from the Trust in 2009, Bosom Buddies has established a scholarship fund for Queen Anne public school graduates pursuing degrees in medical specialties. The 2010 scholarship application is available for download in .pdf format.
- In March of 2010 Bosom Buddies will begin to offer support services to all those affected by breast cancer in Queen Anne's county. Monthly support meetings conducted by a licensed facilitator will be held at our new office, generously donated by Jody Schulz, at 200B Island Professional Park in Chester. Look for notices of times in local publications.
